Keeping the Best - Sketch #44

I've been wanting to work this sketch created by Olga Heldwein at Keeping the Best for some time now, and it finally came to me as to how I would like to use it. Using the colors of yellow and chianti,  I set forth to create the background using the delicious Egg Nogin by Shimmerz and some Glimmer Glaze Chianti (just mix some in a  mini mister and  add some water to dilute the saturated color). I've been wanting to use foil on a layout and the doily section in the sketch inspired me to do so. Wish you could see the soft shimmery silver color the foil reveals under the light texture paste. Cut a circular piece of foil, crinkle up the foil, unfold and remove as much of the wrinkles as you can. Cut into the foil all around the top of the foil in a verticle motion.  Glue it it down flat with the dull side of the foil facing upwards. Place a stencil on top of the foil, and apply a light texture paste on various parts of the stencil (you do not want to cover up all of the foil). Set to dry, mist with your paints, and apply some Glimmer Glaze on the exposed foil parts and mist lightly with water and let the water run naturally. Set it to dry and then use a script stamp on top of the foil in various places.

And, of course, I had to find a special spot to use my new chipboard of preference, "Blue Fern Studios". I cut up the Symphony Border chipboard to enhance the tag that houses some special memories of my middle school graduation. Some of that decadent Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel sprinkled  in with some lemon sherbert embossing powder from Sparkle and Sprinkle was added to the chipboard, and some more Chianti Glimmer Glaze.

Thanks for visiting and stop by Keeping the Best for an inspirational sketch that is sure to get your creative juices flowing again...it did mine.
