Aww...isn't she adorabe? Well, her grandpa really thinks so! He was so delighted when he first met her and found she had his eyes and his chin. When he holds her, he sings this little song to her, "...you have grandpa's eyes, and you have grandpa's chin, and that's why you look like him." Of course, she'd coo and smile back at him and this would melt his heart.
The first thing that came to mind when I first eyed this
Keeping the Best sketch was that it was going to allow me to create my own background...I love all that white space. It's amazing what a few tools can do to help you create your own background: paper, stencil, texture paste, mists, ink and a stamp. I hope you're inspired to create your own background using this sketch as well. I would certainly like to see what you come up with.
The foilage was created using Blue Fern Studios Organic Vine chipboard. Paint the foilage with some white paint; add several different colors of green and brown H2O shimmering paints; add a little bit of orange and red H2O shimmering paints to some of the petals/leaves; apply some Stampendous embossing enamel on a few buds as well, and you're done.
I hope you print the sketch, work it, and enter the challenge at
Keeping the Best.
