Touched by Kindness (Designed for C'est Magnifique)

Again, Nadia created this wonderful sketch for us at C'est Magnifique.  The August kit was assembled with so much lovely elements and pretty vintage papers from Maja Designs.  There's a balance of ying and yang in the kit too.  Check out some of the masculine pages created by the Design Team on the blog and in the gallery.

I had some help in obtaining pictures from my best friend’s family photos, and I’m going to make her an album as a surprise. Here she is as a young girl growing up in Argentina. The Leaky Shed Studio chipboard was painted white, and inked in grey and blues. After it dried, I applied glass bead gel on various places of the chipboard and added some crackle in other areas as well. The small flowers were made using a die-cut.

Boot Camp (Designed for C'est Magnifique)

Have you seen the Maja Design Vintage Papers?  They're gorgeous and they're available at the C'est Magnifique store and in their August Kit.  Leslie was really clever in designing this kit because not only are these papers feminine but she also chose some papers that can be worked as masculine pages too.  Here's an example of the papers I chose to create this masculine page of my bf's dad when he was in boot camp.  All the elements, flowers and pattern papers are from the August kit.  I added a background technique that I have been experimenting with on my art journal pages too. The background was created with mulberry paper, script stamp, gel, gesso, and mists.

Victorian Shoe Cards (for C'est Magnifique July kit)

My niece was planning her graduation party at the time I received the C'est Magnifique July Kit.  When I opened the box to find it jammed packed with pearls, petite flowers, girly Prima stamps and those gorgeous Inkido papers, I knew I'd have to use it somehow to help kick off the graduation festivities.  And, here they are a few of the many pretty invitations big enough to stuff a gift card and some goodies.  If you're interested in the tutorial and pattern, you may find it at C'est Magnifique here .   I must warn you, you will seriously become a shoe addict, because you can't just stop at one. And, this is one time where you don't mind if the shoe doesn't have a mate.   Please post your shoe creation on the C'est Magnifique blog so that we may stop by and see your shoe addiction.   You'll be seeing more of these from me from each of the upcoming future kits, because I cannot help myself, they're so darn cute and easy and you always need a card. :)

Art Journal

We’re inspired at C’est Magnifique with some postings of Art Journal pages from our members.   A number of us have wanted to start art journals but our minds were either filled with too many ideas or just didn’t know where to start.  Leslie created a Forum for us to post our art journal pages and shortly thereafter it stirred up some interest, created some conversations and inspiration. In a very short time, some members have already posted their first art journal page and those that have already created art journals help guide those less experienced but “wanna be art journalers” like me along the way.  Drop by the Forum and check out the “Art Journal” topic and join in the fun.   We included some techniques in each of the postings to help get you started to use up some of those art supplies you have sitting around that call out to be used.  Here’s my page, and if you’re interested in some of the techniques used, I have posted them in C’est Magnifique’s Art Journal Forum.  Thanks for looking, hope to see your creation in the Art Journal Forum as well.

Your 15th (created with the July C'est Magnifique kit)

I used the gorgeous July kit from C'est Magnifique to create this page.  I so love the colors of

aqua, coral, and black and white  and they just pop so well against the white background. I tore the edges of the London Market Collage Sheets and inked them with aqua ink.  I used the chicken wire mask here and there on the page, and lightly applied the same aqua ink.  The pics are of my muse, my DN.  You know “darling” isn’t the word to quite describe her, but then a scrapping term hasn’t been created yet that would fit her personality. She’s more challenging than darling.
